China Glaze: Spring 2016 House Of Color Collection Swatches & Review

Posted on Feb 17, 2016

Hola mis amigos!  Up next today is China Glaze’s latest collection called House Of Color for Spring 2016.  This collection has 12 pretty polishes that are so perfect for Spring.  Have a look-see!

“In The Near Fuchsia” is a pretty medium pink crelly.  Great formula and such a lovely brightened pink!  2 coats.

“Sorry I’m Latte” is a yellow-toned nude creme.  This one doesn’t quite agree with my skin tone,  It gives me a mild case of lobster hands.  It’s so sad because it’s really quite pretty and has a great formula!  2 coats.

“Glitter Me This…” has pale pink, white and gold glitter in a clear base.  Surprisingly, I love this!  It’s so cute and perfect for Spring.  One coat over “Sorry I’m Latte”.

“Let’s Chalk About It” is the palest pale pink creme.  I was expecting this to be a streaky mess but it wasn’t.  It has a great formula and  great coverage in 2 coats.  It is on the thin side so be aware that it will pool if you do thick coats.  2 coats here.

“Girls Just Wanna Have Sun” is a super pale yellow creme.  This is another one I expected to be a huge mess but it has a great formula!  Self-leveling in 2 coats.

“Don’t Be Shallow” is a pale sky blue crelly with slight periwinkle undertones.  Super squishy and shiny.  Nice coverage in 3 coats.

“Pink Or Swim” is a creamy warm-toned pink with slight coral undertones.  Really nice formula.  Practically a one-coater but I did 2 here.

“Moonlight The Night” has shades of blue, shades of purple and iridescent glitter in a clear base.  I love this so much.  Much more than I expected to!  It has lots of glitter that’s easy to pick up and spread on the nail.  One coat over white.

“About Layin’ Out” is a coral crelly.  So pretty and squishy.  It’s a bit sheer in 2 coats but 3 coats is perfect.

“Shut The Front Door!” has a purple-y toned rose base with tons of prevalent golden shimmer.  This is absolutely stunning.  By far my favorite in the collection.  2 perfect coats.

“Chrome Is Where The Heart Is” is a pinky toned chrome polish.  There are slight brushstrokes like you’d expect from a chrome polish but they aren’t terrible.  I did 2 coats here but it’s totally a one-coater.

“Come Rain Or Shine” is a bright medium blue creme with a strong pink sheen shining through.  This is so pretty.  One that you really need to see to believe.  Great formula.  2 coats.

I’m absolutely loving this collection.  It’s full of such pretty polishes for all year but it fits Spring so well.  China Glaze can thrown crelly polishes my way any day!  :)

  • I don’t usually go for collections this pastel but I’m totally in love with just about all of these! I’m excited that they mostly seem to be 2 coaters, and that super pale pink will make an awesome nail art base.

Love this collection, it was available down here in Sally so I got a couple of them; the nude, the light pink, the blue and the blue glitter.. but now, watching your swatches, I think I should’ve gotten more.. :)

  • Michelle

Yay! I’m so happy to see you reviewing these. I just got mine in the mail this week, and I can’t believe how amazing Moonlight the Night is. Best CG topper since Point Me to the Party.

Hi Valesha, I can’t believe your favorite is MY favorite! We usually are polar opposites in that I tend to enjoy the “old lady, old fashioned” colors, and you generally go for what I would call the “hipster, trendy, earthy” colors. ;) In this case, great minds think alike!! :D

  • Shelley Bean

With the exception of the last three, I pretty much need the whole collection ;)

  • Sharon Parayos Merritt

Beautiful swatches! So happy to hear about the great formulas. I always wonder….
