Deborah Lippmann: GIRLS Collection

Today I have for you a collection of 4 polishes from Deborah Lippmann!  I had been eagerly awaiting their release when I first heard about the collection (like I always do with the new Lippmann Collections!)  And surprise, surprise… I love these. :)  These are inspired by 4 of the characters on the HBO show “Girls.”  I personally have never seen the show but I’ve heard lots of good things and I have been wanting to see it for a while now!  I’m sure I will start watching very soon!

“Hannah” is described as a “hapless hunter green.”  It’s a beautiful hunter green creme with blue undertones.  I don’t own anything similar to this and the formula is divine.  This is 2 coats.

“Jessa” is described as “bohemian burgundy,” a deep burgundy crelly (creme/jelly hybrid.)  Since it is a crelly, it’s a bit on the sheer side, I used 3 coats here with a careful hand, but it may require 4, depending on your polishing style.

I also wore “Jessa” on a date night with my husband.  I did this mani in about 10 – 15 minutes, so it’s not perfect but I was obsessed with it!  This polish made my hands look pale and Victorian or something, if that makes sense!  I loved it.  This pic is when I wore it that day.  If you follow me on Instagram, you probably saw me post it already!  For the accent nail, I used Tokidoki “Savana.”

“Marnie” is described as a “prim & proper pink.”  It’s a delicate shade of bubblegum pink.  This one is also a crelly, but leans more towards a jelly than a creme.  It’s quite sheer.  It was a bit problematic for me.  It was quite streaky until the 4th coat which evened it out pretty well although there were still a few slightly bald spots.  I did try wearing it sheer but it looked odd because of the unevenness.  It seemed as though it couldn’t decide whether it wanted to be a creme or a jelly.  It did look really pretty when all was said and done but getting there was a bit troublesome.  This is 4 coats.

“Shoshanna” is my absolute faveeeeeee of the group.  This is basically perfection in a bottle.  It is described as a “Virtuous Vivid Violet.”  I would describe it as a purple leaning periwinkle creme with a very subtle but elegant ribbon of silver running through it.  The formula was on point.  I could wear this all day, every day.  ADORE!  This is 3 coats.  (Side note:  I think OPI “You’re Such A Budapest” is a possible dupe for this.  I will compare them after I post my swatches of the OPI Euro Centrale Collection.)

This collection, which is Limited Edition and comes as a box set can be purchased at LippmannCollection.com.  Even though “Marnie” was a bit of a problem for me, I still highly recommend this set.  The colors really are unique and gorgeous!  More new favorites to add to my collection. :)

I adore the dark teal. The pink is beautiful as well, although I do have quite a few similar shades.
