Today I have 3 new polishes from Deborah Lippmann! This is the first collection from Deborah Lippmann to be released for Spring 2013. I’m always waiting with anticipation to see what Deborah Lippmann will come up with next. They are always sure to impress me! And this collection is no exception.
“Careless Whisper” is a slightly pink-toned nude polish with champagne and copper microshimmer. As I’ve said before, I’m not much of a nude polish person. It has to be justtttt right for me to like it. This is one of those that really made me appreciate nudes. The shimmer really sets it apart and it’s got enough of a pink undertone that it works for my skintone. This one was a complete surprise to me. I really love it! It’s a tad on the thick side but I use the word “thick” lightly. It was a good kind of thick that makes it easy to work with. It was a bit on the sheer side so I used 4 thin coats for this swatch. I would suggest waiting a good while between coats to prevent dragging and bald spots.
“Groove Is In The Heart” is a fun flamingo pink creme! It’s got the slightest hidden microshimmer that I didn’t even notice until I started painting! Sometimes I think to myself, why do I need yet another pink? And then I get a pink like this that just blows me away and I remember that not all pinks are created equal! This is going to be an all-time favorite pink for me. I just know I’ll be wearing it a lot this summer. I kind of already want to polish my toes with it! ♥ You could use 2 coats on this but I did 3 for good measure.
“Moon Rendezvous” is a metallic icy slate blue with blue and silver microshimmer. I was concerned that this would look like OPI “Moonraker” which is a streaky and awful mess (and I still need to swatch for you guys!) but of course, this is spectacular. This is what I WANTED “Mookraker” to look like. Not frosty in the least, just a nice metallic that applied and looked buttery! So smooth. It looks like you can see the brushstrokes from these photos but in real life they were not noticable. This one is a bit sheer at first but builds up very nicely. Shown here, is 3 coats.
Deborah Lippmann polishes can be purchased at many places. I picked up mine at Nordstrom but you can also get them at LippmannCollection.com, Barney’s, Neiman Marcus, as well as many online retailers. You can follow Deborah Lippmann on Facebook and Instagram for everything Deborah Lippmann!
