Guest Post: KellieGonzo – Takko Lacquer Swatches
Greetings Peachy Polish readers! My name is Kellie and I blog over at KellieGonzo. I have been in the nail polish blogging game for seven years! Wow, it sounds crazy when I see that written out, seems like forever. But it’s been an incredible seven years and I’m just as head over heels in love with nail polish as ever. I’ve known Valesha for almost as long as she’s been blogging, she’s always been so sweet to me. We’ve become closer in the last few years, and I am so grateful to have her as a friend! I was so excited to be offered the opportunity to do a guest post for her, it is an honor indeed!
For my post I wanted to share with you some swatches from indie brand Takko Lacquer! I know this is a brand Valesha is interested in trying more of, so I thought I’d show off a few shades today. Takko Lacquer makes 5-free, vegan, cruelty free polish infused with vitamin E. They tend to sell out quickly because of their immense popularity but they are starting to move toward pre-orders to help with demand. These shades are a little older, but may come back in stock!
Daydreaming is a light periwinkle crème chock full of soft pink and green micro flake shimmer. This is a super delicate shade that is perfect for any season. A little thicker than I expected, takes a little effort to spread on the nail. This is two coats for full opacity. The formula isn’t a deal breaker for me though because the color payoff is well worth it! Takkos tend to dry dull due to the vitamin E and mineral pigments they use, so a top coat is required for shine.
Matcha Latte is a milky light jade green with a glaze of iridescent pink shimmer. This was lovely to apply, and despite the heavy shimmer, I didn’t have trouble with brushstrokes. There are some visible, but if you paint straight, you shouldn’t have an issue haha. This took only two coats to become opaque. I might be a little obsessed with this polish!
Black Creek is a collaboration color created with another blogger that I love, McPolish! It has a dark grey brownish matte base filled with gold and pink micro flake shimmer. This can be left satin, I think she intended it to be worn that way, but I just crave shine so I added a top coat which made the shimmer go POP! Application on this was very easy. I thought I got full coverage on two coats, but seeing my photo I probably could’ve benefitted from one more. It’s more transparent in the sunlight than it looked indoors. This is pretty unique to my collection, I’m really happy with it.
You can find Takko Lacquer on their website and on stockist site Color4Nails. Let me know what you think of these pretties! Have you tried any Takkitos yet?
