Today I’ve got KBShimmer’s collection for Spring 2013. Every season, I wait with anticipation for what they will release. I’ve never tried a KBShimmer polish I didn’t like, so I’ll just be up front right now and say, these are no different. The formula on each one is flawless and so easy to use. In fact, while I was taking notes as I was swatching, I got sick of writing the same thing over and over. :) They are simply perfect.
“A Dot Mess” has fuchsia and black circles, hexes, and mini bars in a clear base. CIRCULAR GLITTER! I am really starting to see a trend now and I think circular glitter is officially the hot new thing… and I’m so happy about it! This polish really does it up right! Color combo is fantastic and the circles were super easy to get out. This is 2 coats over Rescue Beauty Lounge “Aqua Lily.”
“Get Clover It” has an emerald green jelly base with green, gold and turquoise microshimmer and circular glitter. Circle glitter again! Yay! This was the most difficult of the bunch, and by difficult I mean, the one that was less easy than the rest. :) Still great formula here, the circles were just a bit more sparse, so if you want a circular glitter bomb, don’t expect it from this one! Such a beauty though! That emerald green base? SWOON! This is 2 coats over Dolce & Gabbana ‘Wild Green.”
“I Got A Crush On Blue”… why yes I do have a crush on you! This one is phenomenal. Seriously. Pictures can not even begin to do this beauty justice. The depth and sparkliness of this one is unreal. It’s loaded with tons of holographic silver glitters in many shapes and sizes, including oversize hexes in a royal blue jelly base. You have to see this one in person to appreciate it’s true beauty. This is 2 coats over China Glaze Man Hunt.
“Iris My Case” has the cutest name! You know how I’m such a sucker for names. :) It’s a pastel lilac creme-jelly hybrid (crelly) with purple, pink, silver and blue glitter. It’s so delicate. A perfect spring color! This is 3 coats by itself.
“Lottie Dottie” was the one I was most looking forward to. Circular glitters AND a white base. Sold! It has turquoise and fuchsia circles, micro bars and microglitter in a white crelly base. To me, the best thing about KBShimmer polishes is that they can be opaque without overwhelming the glitter and making it disappear and you don’t need a million coats. I feel like a lot of brands try to get this balance and it never quite gets there. KBShimmer has absolutely perfected it. Perfect glitter suspension and depth here! I just love this one! This is 3 coats by itself.
I knew I would love “Pastel Me More” but what I didn’t know is how it would end up being my favorite of the bunch! Could. Not. Stop. Staring. It has pastel glitter in lots of shapes and sizes all in a clear base. This polish is ridiculously amazing. This is one coat over Sally Hansen “Onyx” but I’m so excited to try it over other colors.
“Spring Training” has a soft almost-mint-green-but-not-quite-mint-green crelly base with pretty pink, purple, blue and green glitter to mimic the look of Spring flowers. This one is scented but it was very slight to my nose. Not overwhelming in the least. Another out of this world polish. Spring in a bottle. I tried this over Butter London “Fiver” which is nearly identical in base color. But I wanted to show it on it’s own for these swatches… this is 3 coats.
“Squared Away” has a boat-load of my second favorite glitter… squares! It has fuchsia, holographic silver and multiple shades of blue glitter in a clear base. Another one that just doesn’t want to show it’s full potential on camera, but in person… whoa! Amazing! This is one coat over Deborah Lippmann “Call Me Irresponsible.”
Lastly is “Where My Peeps At.” Did I already say one of these polishes had the cutest name? I take it back… THIS has the cutest name. It was inspired by Peeps marshmallows and who doesn’t love those? This is described as having circular glitter, mini bars and microglitter in jelly bean shades in a soft yellow base. This is by far the most Easter-y (yep, Easter-y) polish ever. This is 3 coats by itself. Mmmmmm… now I’m craving frozen Peeps! Nom!
