Laquerlicious: Christmas 2014 Collection Swatches & Review
Hi guys! I don’t know what it is but I’ve been really in the Christmas spirit lately. It’s especially unusual for me because I normally don’t start getting excited until after Thanksgiving. It must be the mixture of all the pretty holiday collections coming out, the crispy about-to-snow feeling the air has right now in the Pacific Northwest and all of the holiday stuff popping up in shops already. I just can’t wait for December to be here.
Staying in the holiday mood, I have another holiday collection for you today. A Christmas Collection from Laquerlicious to be exact!
“Peppermint Twist” has mostly red glitter with a light sprinkling of green glitter in a white crelly base. There is also a subtle golden and pink shimmer in here. Christmas perfection in a bottle! And the name, I love it! Amazing formula, adorable polish. 2 coats.
“Christmas Snowfall” has white and shades of blue glitter with a light blue holographic shimmer in a white crelly base. This is amazing! All the shades of blue glitter work so perfectly together… Navy, turquoise, cyan, light blue… SWOON! 2 coats.
“Warm Sugar Cookies” has a pinky nude creme base with pink and gold microglitter bits and shimmer mixed in. Makes me want some warm sugar cookies for sure. It looks so cute and good enough to eat too. This is SO my kind of nude shade. I really adore this. 2 coats.
“Snow Much Love!” has a pale bubblegum pink base with white, red, green, silver and magenta glitter bits and a bright pink shimmer. So darling and cute and I love that the glitters are small. They still pack a punch while letting the base color shine. So adorable. 2 coats.
“The Delights Of December” has a rainbow of glitter bits, microglitter and shimmer in a gray jelly base. This is awesome. It’s not typical Holiday colors which is always fun to see in a Holiday collection. They are definitely party colors though. I love it. Perfect in 2 coats but I did 3 coats for even MORE glitter.
“Winter Wishes” has light blue, navy, cyan, white and gold glitter with loads of cyan microglitter in a sky blue base. The cyan microglitter in here was a huge surprise for me. It’s like the glitter that was in Laquerlicious’ “At The Lake” which I loved. So no surprise here, this is amazing! So cute! I did 3 thin coats.
“A Letter From Santa” has sage green, kelly green, pastel green, red, light pink, medium pink and white glitter in a clear base. Love this mix of glitters. Very Christmas-y while still having a little something special to it! One coat over Deborah Lippmann “Crush On You”. This combo ended up reminding me of Strawberry Shortcake which just shows how versatile it can be.
“Reindeer Games” has holographic silver, red, green and gold glitter and shimmer in a red jelly base. The base tends to hide the glitter colors a bit but you can still see the sparkle. This is 2 coats.
“Hollydays” is a shimmering green full of green and gold glitter bits and shimmer in a green jelly base with some gold flakes added in. It has a bit of a metallic look to it. So pretty. I knew I’d like it, but I like it a lot! It will be perfect for a Christmas mani or an accent nail for a Christmas design. 2 coats.
“Merry & Bright” is a cranberry red jelly with red and gold shimmer and glitter. The base color is so pretty and so different from the usual Christmas red. Very sparkly too. I did 2 coats.
It’s so hard to choose a favorite here because they are all really wonderful. I think my top picks would be “Christmas Snowfall”, “Peppermint Twist”, “Warm Sugar Cookies” and “Snow Much Love!” This is a great and diverse collection.
