So, I’ve been so enthralled by the texture trend that is all the rage so far this year. I was completely surprised by how much I liked it when I first tried it with OPI’s Liquid Sand polishes from the Mariah Carey Collection. So when I spotted these a few weeks back at a local store, I was once again intrigued. Of course, I had to get them all so I could show you guys the entire collection. :)
Just so I don’t end up being repetitive, I will start off by saying that the texture on all of these is similar to a smooth but textured wall. You can tell it’s bumpy but it’s not bothersome. I actually didn’t mind it at all. It doesn’t feel the same as when you put on a hungry glitter without topcoat and you just end up wanting to pick it like crazy. (Or at least, I do…)
“Aqua Splash” is a an aqua blue polish with texture. This one was difficult to spread evenly. It’s also a bit sheer. With the 2 coats I used, you can see a bit of VNL. I do like the shade of aqua but the formula is kind of a let down for me.
“Purple Streak” has a darker grape purple textured base. This one had a much easier formula than “Aqua Splash.” Easy to apply and nice coverage. This is 2 coats.
“Shady Gray” is a graphite gray with texture. The formula is identical to “Purple Streak.” This is 2 coats.
“Spoiled In Fuchsia” is a fuchsia textured polish. The texture is less obvious here. I think there is less of it or it’s smaller? I’m not quite sure which. This one had a really great and easy formula! It was thin enough that it made the application a breeze! It’s almost a one-coater but this is 2 coats.
“Tainted In Red” is a orange-red textured polish. It’s a tie between this and “Spoiled In Fuchsia” for my favorite of the collection. I just adore the color of this polish. It’s like the color of bright red, red velvet cake. The application was so nice also. This is 2 coats.
“Yellow Mark” is a bright sunshine yellow textured polish. The first coat on this one was pretty easy. The second coat was more difficult to spread out evenly. It got a bit chunky. It did have a nice opacity for a yellow polish which was a nice surprise. This is 2 coats.
I purchased these at a store called Fred Meyer which is just in the Pacific Northwest, I believe. They can also be purchased at Walgreen, CVS, Target, KMart, as well as other retailers, in-store and online.
