Hi guys!  Today I have OPI’s latest collection to share with you.  There are a whopping 18 polishes in this group so let’s not waste another second and get to the swatches!

OPI Holiday 2015 Starlight Collection | Peachy Polish

“By The Light Of The Moon” has silver glitter in an opaque silver metallic base.  Just one question… WHY?  Why did this polish ever become a thing?  I feel bad for saying it but this is just terrible.  2 coats of chunky awfulness. (These photos actually look better than it did in person.)

“Press * For Silver” is a rosy-toned silver metallic that borders on frosty.  There are noticeable brushstrokes and it’s almost a bit too frosty for my taste… also, I feel like it’s not super on the silver side but we’ll give that a pass… I did 2 coats.

“Infrared-y To Glow” has weirdly shaped pink and silver glitter mixed with silver glitter bits in a clear base.  Another one I just don’t understand.  What is this glitter shape?  Not a fan of this one.  One coat over “Press * For Silver”.

“Is This Star Taken?” is a pale golden metallic with silver holographic microbars.  This one is also super disappointing.  Chunky and gross looking.  2 coats.

“I Drive A SuperNova” is a perfect silver foil.  It’s super opaque and the kind of silver I like.  Great formula and opaque in one coat but I did 2 here.

“Two Wrongs Don’t Make A Meteorite” has charcoal and rose gold glitter in a clear base.  Again, Not a fan of this.  It’s quite weird and frankly kind of ugly.  I did one coat over “I Drive A SuperNova”.

“Super Star Status” is a glittery polish I can get behind in this collection.  It has silver glitter bits in a silver foil shimmered clear base.  This one could be layered or worn alone like I did here.  I did 3 coats.

“Comet Closer” is a pewter foil.  Now this is a holiday polish.  Not frosty or chunky, just perfectly seasonal and lovely.  2 coats.

“Ce-less-tial Is More” has silver and rose gold small and microglitters plus shimmer in a clear base.  This is also a sparkling beauty that gets to opacity in 3 coats.

“Center Of The You-niverse” is a black crelly loaded with prevalent silver shimmer and ineffectual black microglitter bits.  At first I was disappointed when I saw the black glitter bits but they disappeared upon the second coat.  2 coats.

“I’m In The Moon For Love” is a stunning plum creme with a glowing fuchsia microshimmer.  This.  This is just glorious.  I don’t even have words for the beauty.  Perfect formula.  My swatches don’t quite do this justice!  2 coats.

“Love Is In My Cards” is a buttery true red creme.  Not unique by any means but I love any red creme and this one is perfect.  2 coats.

“Rom-Man-ce On The Moon” is a perfect Christmas ornament red metallic.  Absolutely swoon-worthy and vibrant.  Perfect formula.  2 coats.

“Guys & Galaxies” is a deep velvety blood red crelly.  It’s very dark and vampy but still light enough that it looks red and not brown or black.  I did 2 coats.

“Let Your Love Shine” is a lovely cool red with warm reflective shimmer.  Again, not super unique but I just love it and it has a great formula.  2 coats.

“Cosmo With A Twist” has an eggplant jelly base with tons of purple and blue shimmer.  This is gorgeous and shimmery with a great formula.  2 coats.

“No More Mr. Night Sky” has lots of reflective silver and gunmetal shimmer in a gunmetal jelly base.  I thought this would be super sheer but it it built up pretty well in 3 coats and the end result is gorgeous.

“Give Me Space” has a royal blue crelly base with a pretty scattered holographic shimmer.  Gorgeous!  It reminds me of Zoya “Dream” which I love.  2 coats.

This collection is one of the biggest mixed bags ever.  Some of the polishes were seriously terrible and confusing and others were just lovely!  I hope that OPI may take a hint and sticks with the stuff they are so good at, cremes and shimmers, mainly!  I’ll take their cremes and shimmers all day, every day!

I’m not sure if I will have time to do comparisons any time soon but if I do, I’d love some suggestions.  If you can think of anything you’d like compared, let me know and I’ll try my hardest to get it done. :)

OPI polishes can be purchased at professional salons including Beauty Brands, Beauty First, Chatters, Dillard’s, JCPenney Salons, Pure Beauty, Regis, Trade Secret, Ulta.com and Ulta as well as a lot of other retailers and online. Don’t forget to follow OPI on Facebook for all the OPI news!

    Hi, Valesha!

    Greetings from Brazil!

I’ve been reading your blog for a while, but it’s the first time I comment.
And I loved your honesty about the ugly ones! You said exactly what a lot of us were wondering about them. I think if OPI wants to make something different, they could release a Liquid Sand or a holographic shade instead of these weird toppings, rsrsrs.
But the beautiful colors art just STUNNING, especially Let your love Shine and Give me Space. I just received my bottl of Give me Space today and it is GORGEOUS!
Your swatches are amazing, thank you for them!

  • I love your brutal honesty! You murdered the ugly ones, with reason. I only picked up a few from this collection because some look so strange and just weird like you said! Thanks for the review :)

  • Cat

Hi Valesha, Haha! You managed to make even the stinkers look good. ;) I have 4 of these (none of the weird ones) and am enjoying them a lot. I hope OPI continues to send you products for review after your negative comments!!

  • Sharon Parayos Merritt

I’m with you – the 1st 6 – forget about them! But then they get better and better! Love all in the 2nd half! Thanks for a great and enjoyable review!

  • Sara M.

Your comments about the first few shades had me giggling! I really love that you say what a lot of us are thinking! Lol. I love your use of the word gross, very fitting haha!

  • Rosalia Pano

I have been waiting for your review for a while. Down in Mexico, Sally only has offered 6 of the 18 shades.. but oh well, it’s not a big loss! jaja I was too very dissapointed when I watched some live application videos on YouTube.. so wanted to read yout comments on it.

I think OPI went everywhere and tryed to cover so many things in this collection..

the only shade I’m looking forward to get is “Ce-less-tial Is More” just for the shade of that beautiful glitter in goldy rose :)

thanks so much for your honest opinions girl.. have a nice wednesday!

By the way, on comparissons I can only think of “toggle to the top” from Essie compared to “let your love shine” .. ;)

  • OMG – This was the best review of this collection I’ve seen yet! Lovely swatches, as always, but your comments exactly mirrored my thoughts on these strange polishes!

  • The two glitter toppers almost look like deconstructed houndstooth? I don’t know, this collection confused me too.
