OPI: Nordic Collection Comparisons

Posted on Aug 5, 2014

I have a much requested post for you all today!  I had quite a few people ask me to do comparisons for OPI’s Nordic Collection.  I love doing these posts but they can be so time consuming so I wasn’t sure that I’d have time, but I made time.  Because you guys are awesome and you deserve it. :)  I hope this helps you on your quest for Dupedom!  Enjoy and don’t forget to check out the full swatches and review of this collection, HERE.

Pointer to pinkie; 2 coats of each: Milani “Colorful Coral”, OPI “Can’t Afjörd Not To”, CND “Desert Poppy” & OPI “Hot & Spicy”

“Colorful Coral” is more muted and pink-toned, “Desert Poppy” is also more muted and has a fine shimmer, “Hot & Spicy” is more pink toned and darker.  “Can’t Afjörd Not To” is brighter and less muted than all of the comparisons without being a typical bright orange.

Pointer to pinkie; 2 coats of each: Zoya “Flynn”, OPI “Going My Way Or Norway?”, Deborah Lippmann “Gingerbread Boy” & Deborah Lippmann “No More Drama”

I had nothing in my stash that was even close to “Going My Way Or Norway?” but these were the best I could do.  “Flynn” is cooler and more muted, “Gingerbread Boy” is cooler and more chocolately, “No More Drama” is cooler, more chocolately and has copper shimmer (it’s is one of my all time favorite browns BTW.  One day I will swatch it for y’all!)  GMWON is much warmer than all of these.

Pointer to pinkie; 2 coats of each: Deborah Lippmann “Gingerbread Boy”, OPI “Ice-Bergers & Fries”, OPI “A-Piers To Be Tan” & China Glaze “Desert Sun”

“Gingerbread Boy” is cooler and more muted, “A-Piers To Be Tan” is really close but about a shade off & “Desert Sun” is much warmer and closer to orange in comparison.  “Ice-Bergers & Fries” is one of those chameleon polishes that looks like a warm toned brown when you look at it on it’s own but when you put it next to another warm toned brown and it looks cooler but when you put it next to a cool toned brown, it appears very warm toned.

Pointer to pinkie; 2 coats of each: OPI “Get In The Expresso Lane”, OPI “How Great Is Your Dane?”, OPI “You Don’t Know Jacques” & Butter London “Teetotal”

“Get In The Expresso Lane” is darker and a little less grayed out, it actually has a green undertone.  “You Don’t Know Jacques” is paler by a shade or two.  “Teetotal” is closer to YDKJ but a touch darker.

Pointer to ring; 2 coats of each: OPI “Suzi Loves Cowboys”, OPI “How Great Is Your Dane?” & Zoya “Emilia”

“Suzi Loves Cowboys” is a true chocolate bar brown and not gray toned at all.  “Emilia” looks just a touch warmer.  These are similar enough, especially in person, that I would say you definitely don’t need HGIYD and “Emilia”.

Pointer to pinkie; 2 coats of each: OPI “50 Years of Style”, OPI “OPI With A Nice Finn-ish”, OPI “Rising Star” & Deborah Lippmann “From Rags To Riches”

“A Grape Affair” is a touch brighter, “Sapphire In The Snow” is a bit more blue toned, “Miss You-niverse” is more muted and blue toned and actually looks straight up blue next to the others.

OPI Viking In A Vinter Vonderland Comparison | Peachy Polish

Pointer to pinkie; 2 coats of each: OPI “Vant To Bite My Neck”, OPI “Viking In A Vinter Vonderland”, Dior “Poison” & Deborah Lippmann “Dark Side Of The Moon”

“Vant To Bite My Neck” is brighter and more warm.  “Poison” is super close to being a dupe… the shade of purple is almost exact but “Poison” has a light shimmer in it.  “Dark Side Of The Moon” is more red toned.

OPI Viking In A Vinter Vonderland Comparison | Peachy Polish

Although a lot of these are close, not many have dupes but most “normal” folks would not be able to see a difference between a lot of these.  I guess it just comes down to how much of a hoarder you are!  LOL!  I am a major polish hoarder so needless to say, these are all staying in my stash. :)
