Aloha ladies and gents!  Today I have the Hawaii Collection from OPI for you.  I have been so excited about this collection since the minute I found out about it.  And I was even more excited when I was able to see it in person at the beginning of December when I attended an OPI event in LA with the amazing Selena from @Selena.Dee on Instagram, my sister and my mom!  My mom actually lives in Hawaii so it was extra special!  Stay tuned until the end of the post to catch a few photos from the event!

“Hello Hawaii Ya?” is a grayed out moody purple creme.  The more I try polishes with gray or muted undertones, the more I realize, they are my favorite!  I could wear them all day every day!  This is excellent.  2 coats.

“Is Mai Tai Crooked?” is a cantaloupe colored creme.  Not the best formula ever but not bad either.  Some nails required 3 coats for an even finish.

“Just Lanai-ing Around” is a dusty rosy pink/mauve with a very fine golden shimmer.  LOVE!  My kind of a color for sure.  Reminds me of “Wooden Shoe Like To Know” and other OPI’s of that nature with a fine but glowing shimmer.  I did 2 coats but it could be a one-coater.

“Lost My Bikini In Molokini” is a slightly dusty but bright medium purple creme.  It’s along the same lines as one of my all time favorite purples… “Funky Dunkey”!  2 creamy coats.

“Go With The Lava Flow” is a beautiful red-orange with lots of gold glass fleck.  At the OPI event my mom got a mani with this one.  I was in love from the minute I saw it on her!  Beautiful in 2 coats.

“My Gecko Does Tricks” is a bright green metallic.  I didn’t think I would like this at all.  I was just not feeling in the bottle.  On the nail… wowza!  So pretty!  I actually really love it!  I did 2 coats.

“Aloha From OPI” is an eye-searing bright red-toned orange.  Every time I try a new orange I’m reminded of how much I love them and I ask myself why I don’t wear them more!  They tend to be a little neglected in my stash.  This one is gorgeous.  I did 2 coats.

“Pineapples Have Peelings Too!” has a rainbow of glitter in a frosty yellow gold base.  Say hello to the ugliest polish I’ve ever seen from OPI.  What in the world were they thinking with this?  To have such a beautiful collection and then throw this absolute dud in the bunch is such a let down!  On the plus side, not a bad formula.  This is 2 coats.

“This Color’s Making Waves” is a color-shifting metallic that goes from green to blue with copper shimmer.  Pretty color.  Nice formula.  I did 2 coats.

“Do You Take Lei Away?” is a cool-toned nude creme.  Awesome nude!  This is going to be the “My Vampire Is Buff” of the year I think!  2 coats.

“That’s Hula-rious!” is a pretty mint creme with a crelly-like formulation.  Pretty great formula for a pale green like this.  And the name is amazing!  2 coats.

“Suzi Shops & Island Hops” is a pale candy pink creme.  About typical in formula when it comes to pale pink cremes… a bit of streakiness and some bald spots.  I used 3 coats and I could still see bits of bald spots in real life.

Although it’s not my favorite OPI collection ever, I can’t help but love it because of the Hawaii theme.  Hawaii is my second home since I have family there so these make me happy.

OPI polishes can be purchased at professional salons including Beauty Brands, Beauty First, Chatters, Dillard’s, JCPenney Salons, Pure Beauty, Regis, Trade Secret, Ulta.com and Ulta as well as a lot of other retailers and online. Don’t forget to follow OPI on Facebook for all the OPI news!

Hi Valesha, it’s nice to see some more photos of you (not just your nails!), and how sweet are your Mom and sister! How did your Mom end up living in Hawaii and you in Seattle? Did you actually MOVE AWAY from Paradise???? :o I love those behind-the-scenes photos at the OPI event, too. I hope you use “That’s Hula-rious” in some nail art; I have that one and don’t know what I want to do with it yet.
