Rainbow Nail Art Collaboration!

Posted on Feb 19, 2013

I’ve been fortunate enough to make some really great friends on Instagram.  A handful of us decided to collaborate to do some fun rainbow nail art!  And of course I have to do a blog post and show you how awesome they are!

Rainbow Nails

First up is the love Gaby (@lacquerloon on Instagram).  She did some awesome leopard print nails with neon polish for the base.  This reminds me of Lisa Frank!  I just adore it!  The polishes she used were:  Wet n’ Wild “Pin Em Slater”, Wet n’ Wild “Pom Pom Kelly”, Wet n’ Wild “Straight A Jessie” and Kleancolor “Neon Green” with Wet n’ Wild “Black” and “White” for the spots!

Rylee from Wicked Nails did a sparkling glitter placement mani!  Glitter placement can take a really long time and I envy the patience she had to complete this look!  For her base she used Wet n’ Wild “Black” and for the glitter she used American Apparel “Galaxy Glitter” and strategically placed each piece. Selena from Pink U Rock did a sponged “cotton candy” gradient rainbow with a gold glitter accent nail!  “Cotton candy” is referring to the method she used to achieve this look.  It’s not a typical gradient where the polish is in lines.  You can find a good tutorial on how to do this HERE.  To achieve this look, she used Julep “Rose”, Wet n’ Wild “Sunny Side Up”, Maybelline Color Show “Fierce N’ Tangy”, China Glaze “Four Leaf Clover”, Sally Hansen “Pacific Blue”,  Sation “Tardy Tart”, Zoya “Ziv”, Orly “Too Fab” & Serum No. 5 “Girls Gotta Eat.”

Kianna from Polish & Pandas did a pastel rainbow gradient on two fingers and pastel rainbow dots on the others!  I love that amidst our bright and colorful nails, she went with a springy delicate version!  She used OPI “Alpine Snow” as the base, The Faceshop: “PK102”, “PK109”, “YL701”, “GR501”, “BL 601” & a Color Club  franken using “Pucci-licious” and a blue polish.

Next up is Felice from S-lacquer!  This is another gradient mani but using yet another different and awesome technique with a half moon!  This turned out really incredible!  I’m in awe of the way this one looks!  For this mani, she used Essie “Lights”, Zoya “Maura”, Essie “Fear or Desire”, CND “Bicycle Yellow”, Essie “Mojito Madness”, Rimmel “Blue My Mind”, Wet n Wild “On A Trip”, & OPI “Honk If You Love OPI.”

And my little addition to this collaboration was a rainbow watercolor manicure!  You know how much I love doing watercolor manis because they are so simple.  I have had requests to do a video tutorial for this.  I will try and do that someday soon, once I get my tripod. :)  The colors I used here were OPI “Color So Hot It Berns”, OPI “A Roll In The Hague”, Zoya “Pippa”, OPI “Who The Shrek Are You?”, Orly “Shockwave” & Zoya “Mira.”
