Serum No. 5: Fall/Winter 2012 Collection
Today I have some more Serum No. 5 polishes to show you! This time, it’s from their Fall/Winter 2012 Collection!
First up is “Barely There”. A pretty nude with pinky undertones. There are holographic shimmer, microglitter and hexes mixed in. This is very soft and angelic. A nice palette cleanser polish for when your want something subtle and this one has a nice twist with the holo glitter. Pointer and middle is 2 coats over OPI “My Very First Knockwurst”, ring and pinkie is 3 coats alone. You could wear this without undies.
“Call It A ‘ Treuse” is shimmery yellow/green polish with microglitter in green and chartreuse and some fuchsia glitter and hexes. I love the name of this polish! So clever! The hexes look curled in this photo, but they aren’t. I think it’s the way the light catches them. Pointer and middle have 2 coats over Butter London “Dosh”. Ring and pinkie is 3 coats alone.
“Fallen” has a shimmery orange/red base with red and copper micro glitter and hex glitter. It has a really nice formula and can be worn alone if you don’t mind having a slight VNL. Pointer and middle have 2 coats over Sparitual “Aroused” and ring and pinkie have 3 coats alone.
“Forest Lights” has a shimmery light olive base with white square glitter and green to blue color shifting glitter. Nice formula again on this one! There is a slight VNL when worn alone. Pointer and middle have 2 coats over Zoya “Yara”. Ring and pinkie have 3 coats alone.
“Pretty Blue” is a glitter polish with magenta microglitter, cyan micro and hex glitter and some holo microglitter all in a clear base. Once again, nice formula (repetitive I know, but oh so true!) This one is super sparkly! Pointer and middle have 2 coats over Nicole By OPI “‘Baby’ Blue” and ring and pinkie have 3 coats alone. It’s obviously meant to use as a topper!
“Rise and Grind” has green/gold shimmer with light brown and white hex glitter in a sheer brown shimmered base. This totally reminds me of coffee and sugar and I really like the clever name! Pointer and middle have 2 coats over Butter London “Teetotal” and ring and pinkie have 3 coats alone.
Last but not least, “Stormy Weather” is a super complex polish with silver bar glitter, large blue and silver hexes, purple and blue microglitter and holo shimmer all in a shimmered charcoal base. I had problems getting the large glitter out but after leaving it upside down for 5-10 minutes, it was easier. Pointer and middle have 2 coats over Deborah Lippmann “Stormy Weather” (how appropriate!) and ring and pinkie have 3 coats alone. There is an obvious VNL when worn solo.
I really enjoyed that a lot of these can be worn alone or with a base. I feel like it makes them very versatile! These can be purchased on Serum No. 5‘s etsy shop and MeiMeiSignatures.com! Don’t forget to follow them on Facebook or Instagram (@serumno5) for the latest updates and news!
