Serum No. 5: Spring/Summer 2014 Collection Part 2 Swatches & Review
For today, I have a big bunch o’ polishes from Serum No. 5 to show you that are part of their Spring/Summer 2014 Collection.
“I Gleam In Pink” is a hot pink polish that glows a pretty orangey-coral in the dark. This has a semi-textured finish, I believe due to the glow in the dark pigment. But it actually makes it look like it could be a legit textured polish. 2 coats of top coat gives it a nice glossy finish too. I did 2 coats without top coat.
“Infrared” is a hot reddish/coral polish with a hot pink glow in the dark effect. Gorgeous color! Like “I Gleam In Pink”, it ends up having a textured finish which I quite liked! I did 2 coats without top coat.
“Orange You Sunny” is a bright yellow/orange shade with a sunny orange-y/yellow glow in the dark effect. This polish reminds me of Kraft Mac n’ Cheese! Yummy! I love it! This one has less of texture than the first 2. It’s slightly streaky on the first 2 coats so I did 3 coats. I think a ridge-filling base coat would help.
“Solar Power” is neon yellow with an eye-searing yellow glow in the dark effect. This one is pretty streaky. Which is pretty typical with yellow polishes. I think a ridge-filling base coat would have helped with that a little bit. I did 3 coats and there were still some bald spots.
“Krypton-Brite” is a neon green with a bright green glow in the dark effect. Really pretty color and the glow effect is really intense! 2 coats.
“Indi-Glow” is a bright blue polish with a nice bright cyan blue glow effect. Great formula and color. This one had a somewhat textured finished like “I Gleam In Pink” and “Infrared” but a little more subdued. I did 2 coats with one coat of top coat but I think one more coat of top coat could evened it out a bit more.
“Ultra Violet” is a bright red-toned purple with blue shimmer that glows light blue. 2 coats.
“Isle Live” has an array of tropical colored glitters in a pale yellow base that glows bright yellow! Love the shades of glitter! Great formula, 2 easy coats.
“What A Blast” has blue, red, white and silver glitter in a gray tinged base. I think the base is a little gray tinged because of the glow in the dark pigment but it would be clear enough I think that you could wear it over a colored base without to altering the base too much. There are tons of star glitters in here of different sizes which made this polish so fun. The glitter pickup was amazing. Tons of glitter with each dip of the brush. I did 3 coats by itself.
“Just Add Water” has white, turquoise and green glitter in a turquoise tinged base with turquoise and gold shimmer. Pretty and sparkly! Great formula. 2 coats over Deborah Lippmann “On The Beach”.
“Flashing Lights” has lots of silver microglitter and shimmer in a clear base that dries to a semi-matte finish. Great formula, very sparkly and the glitter and shimmer are dense enough to be worn alone, so that’s what I did! 3 coats by itself without top coat.
“Off Tropic” is a gilded golden metallic with gold and scattered holo shimmer. Great formula. 3 coats.
“Sand-tastic” has multicolored but mostly gold colored glitter in a clear base. Some holographic and some metallic. Perfect glitter pickup. One coat over Zoya “Dea”.
