OPI: 2014 Pink of Hearts Duo Swatches & Review
Hola wonderful people! Today I have OPI’s annual Breast Cancer Awareness duo to show you. It’s always nice to see polishes that are made for a good cause so I do look forward to these each year.
“Mod About You” is a pale pink creme. This has been a favorite of OPI lovers since it was released in 2006. I’m glad they are re-releasing it for this Breast Cancer Awareness Duo. I used to have an older bottle of “Mod About You” and I don’t remember the formula being that great. I recall it being streaky, so much so that I swapped it away a while ago. This is not the case with this newer version! I found this to be very easy to work with, considering how light it is. I did 2 coats over a ridge-filling base.
“The Power of Pink” has a milky pale pink base with white, fuchsia and magenta hexes and microglitter. I thought this would be too sheer to wear alone but it had the perfect amount of delicate sheerness that it looked fabulous after 3 coats.
This duo also came with a darling mini nail file with a Breast Cancer Awareness ribbon charm and the file has a different glitter on each of its sides. It’s a perfect little file to keep in your purse and it’s so cute too! I decided to use “The Power of Pink” in a triangle design over “Mod About You” so you could see what it would look like over the opaque shade and see a little nail art too (albeit nothing fancy.) :)
OPI polishes can be purchased at professional salons including Beauty Brands, Beauty First, Chatters, Dillard’s, JCPenney Salons, Pure Beauty, Regis, Trade Secret, Ulta.com and Ulta as well as a lot of other retailers and online. Don’t forget to follow OPI on Facebook for all the OPI news!
