China Glaze: Holiday 2016 Seas And Greetings Collection Swatches & Review

Posted on Nov 11, 2016

Hello and happy Friday! I hope you have a fabulous weekend! I get to go to a concert this weekend with a friend! I’m sooooo excited! Today, I have another Holiday Collection to share with you, this time from China Glaze and it’s a little different than other Holiday collections we will see. It’s inspired by the oceanside but also by the Holidays which has led to some cool and different colors for the Winter. Let’s take a look at what they have to offer!

Twinkle, Twinkle Little Starfish is a shimmery green and gold iridescent flakies in a clear base. The name, the formula, so perfect. One coat over OPI I Believe In Manicures.

Snow Way! has lots of gold shimmer in the palest pale blue-gray crelly base. So pale, it’s practically white but I do see a bit of color in here. Really nice formula. 2 coats.

Eat, Pink, Be Merry is a mid-toned pink crelly with a strong copper shimmer. This is a little thicker than the typical CG formula but it makes it easier to control so I don’t mind it. I did 2 coats.

Sand In My Mistletoes is a pale peachy-pinky nude creme. This actually has a pretty great formula. Almost a one-coater. I’m impressed. I did 2 coats here.

Let’s Shell-ebrate has fuchsia glitter and gold shimmer in a slightly pink-tinged clear base. I think this could be opaque on it’s own in a few coats but I did one over Sand In My Mistletoes.

Good Tide-ings is a perfect periwinkle creme. The formula left me awestruck. One buttery coat will do just fine but for photo sake I did 2.

Partridge In A Palm Tree is a shimmery turquoise matte. It has a bit of a streaky formula because it dries quickly but I was able to get it evened out pretty well in 3 coats. I absolutely adore the name! This is without top coat.

This is 3 coats of Partridge In A Palm Tree with top coat.

Joy To The Waves has a dark washed denim blue jelly base with loads of gold and a smattering of green shimmer. There was slight VNL with 2 coats so I added an additional one. You could get by with 2 though.

Seas And Greetings has a mid-toned purple jelly base with fiery copper shimmer. Same formula as Joy To The Waves and just as pretty. 3 coats.

Warm Wishes is a warm coral crelly with a subtle gold shimmer. Nice formula. 2 coats.

Tis The Sea-Sun is a coral-toned orange creme. In the bottle I thought it would be a bit more pinky toned but it was definitely more orange on the nail and it dried a touch darker than it was in the bottle. So pretty. 2 coats.

The More The Berrier has a brick red base with loads and loads of magenta shimmer giving it a metallic feel. It has so much shimmer that it appears more pink than red. It’s very unique and gorgeous. 2 coats but it’s a one-coater.

Overall: I love that this collection is so non-traditional. It’s nice to see pastels and brights amongst the general holiday shades we see (which I also love!) It’s nice to break up the monotony. There also wasn’t a dud in the bunch as far as formula goes. They were all so lovely to work with! This collection is a winner in my book!

China Glaze can be purchased at tons of different places including Ulta, Sally Beauty, Transdesign and lots of other retailers and E-tailers. Don’t forget to follow China Glaze on Facebook and Instagram to keep up to date with new colors and collections!
