CND VINYLUX: Spring 2014 Open Road Collection Swatches & Review
Hello all! Today I have some polishes from CND today! These ones are part of the VINYLUX line. What does VINYLUX mean, you ask? Let me tell you in the words of the brand:
“VINYLUX™ is a breakthrough polish system that endures a week of fashion perfection…without a base coat! Exposure to natural light secures the patent-pending technology, creating an enduring, long-lasting polish. While ordinary polishes become brittle and deteriorate over time, VINYLUX dries naturally to a flawless finish and strengthens its resistance to chips over time. VINYLUX is available in 71 fashion-forward polish colors and 60 colors that match popular CND Shellac™ shades.”
New technology!? Awesome! I know us polish people are always looking for polishes that last longer. While I haven’t had a chance to test out the wear time on myself yet, I do look forward to trying it out and will report back with results. As I’ve said here in the past, I’ve never been able to make polish last on me. I chalk it up to my body chemistry. But it will be interesting to see how these fare!
Now, on to the swatches!
“Sun Bleached” is a pale banana cream pie colored creme polish! This shade is so cute and sweet and the name is great too. It’s a typical yellow polish with streakiness on the first 2 coats but it evens out well with the third.
“Powder My Nose” is a milky semi-sheer pale nude. This is awesome. It has a great formula and it leaves you with a delicate look. 3 coats.
“Sage Scarf” is a pretty and dusty sage creme. Beautiful and bohemian. It reminds me of a beautiful succulent! 2 coats.
“Mint Convertible” is a soft mint green creme. Great polish with a great formula and it look so soft and squishy! 2 coats.
“Clay Canyon” is a super dusty brownish orange creme. I have this Moroccan Red Clay Powder that I use to make face masks and it’s the EXACT color of this polish… the name could not be more perfect. Excellent formula and a unique color. I’m loving it and the earthy feel it exudes! 2 coats.
“Desert Poppy” is a coraly orange with a subtle golden shimmer. So pretty! The shimmer was quite a surprise, I didn’t even see it in the bottle. It’s a little sheer on the first coat but builds up nicely in 2 - 3 coats. I did 3 coats for this photo.
Not only do these shades come in the VINYLUX line but they also come in Shellac! So if that’s more your speed, you will love these as well. There is a little something for everyone! This collection of polishes is really different and unique. They are so lovely and very reminiscent of the desert. For most of these (except for maybe “Mint Convertible”), I couldn’t think of colors I had in my stash that were similar. Not to mention, the formulas here were great and such a pleasure to apply.
CND polishes are available for purchase on Amazon, SleekHair.com, BeyondPolish.com, NailPolishCanada.com and eBay (thanks to All Lacquered Up for this info!) as well as a salon near you! Click here to locate a local salon that sells CND polishes.
