Deborah Lippmann: Summer 2013 Mermaids Collection
Today I have Deborah Lippmann’s collection of “Mermaids”! Since last Spring’s “Mermaid’s Dream” was such a huge hit amongst polish lovers, Queen Deb decided to create a whole collection of polishes similar to “Mermaid’s Dream” but in different color combos! Of course the minute I heard about the collection, I knew I had to have it!
“Do The Mermaid” is a slightly metallic pale purple with champagne shimmer and purple glitter. The shimmer is not as strong as some of the others in this collection but still just as gorgeous! This is 3 thin coats. (Also, I kinda can’t help but think of “Mermaid Dancing” in Pitch Perfect when I say the name of this one. I’ll post a GIF at the bottom of the post just because it’s funny. I love Rebel Wilson! LOL!)
“Mermaid’s Eyes” is a metallic blue with gold shimmer and cyan blue glitter. The shimmer in this one is not as strong as the shimmer in the next 2 polishes but it is more obvious than in “Do The Mermaid.” This is the most metallic looking of the bunch and also the most opaque. I could have gotten away with 2 coats but I did 3 thin coats for these pictures.
“Mermaid’s Kiss” is a metallic dusty pink with strong gold shimmer and raspberry and dusty pink glitter. The shimmer in this one is the strongest out of the 4. It’s very subdued looking at first glance without sacrificing shine and sparkle. I think if you work at a place that doesn’t allow “loud” polish, this would be very work appropriate. Not in your face but packs a punch nonetheless. 2 thick coats for this one!
“Million Dollar Mermaid” is a metallic peach with strong gold shimmer and orange and copper glitter. This one may be better on someone with a tan or a darker skin tone than me. But I don’t really care that it’s not the most ideal shade for my coloring… I love it anyway! It will definitely be one that I’ll want to wear this summer when I have a little more color and am not looking reminiscent of a ghost! This is 3 thin coats.
