Deborah Lippmann: Spring 2014 Spring Reveries Collection Swatches & Review

I Bought This!

So it’s been about 6 months since I posted any Lippmann’s on my blog. It’s an atrocity! If you’ve been reading my blog for any length of time, you know that Queen Deb makes some of my most beloved polishes. I almost always scoop up the collections she releases! Well I have a bunch of backlogged swatches (from over the holiday’s) that I never got to post and a bunch of them are Deborah Lippmann. I’m hoping to post those soon but since we are in the midst of Spring Fever, I had to post these Spring polishes first!

“Flowers In Her Hair” is a aqua-tinted mint creme. Goes on the nail beautifully and is such a stunning shade. 2 coats.

“Spring Buds” is a precious honey dew melon shade. It’s got the perfect creamy formula that you’d expect from Queen Deb. 3 coats.

“Tip Toe Through The Tulips” is a warm peach creme. You know I love peachy things! ;) It’s a touch streaky on the first coat but evens out nicely in 3 coats.

“La Vie En Rose” is the palest blue-toned pink sheer with a luminous gold and pink shimmer. Beautiful! I thought this would be streaky because of my ridges, so I used a ridge-filling base coat and it went on wonderfully. 2 could would suffice but I did 3 for these photos.

“Build Me Up Buttercup” is a sweet pale yellow with slight brown undertones. It’s like a dirty, warm vintage yellow. And of course, the name is cute and I can’t help but sing the song. :) Formula is a little streaky but with some tender loving care I was able to get it to even out in 2 coats over a ridge-filling base coat.

“Blue Orchid” is a cool-toned pastel blue. Really excellent formula. I was surprised when the first coat went on with no issues. I almost could have gotten away with one coat but ended up doing 2 over a ridge-filling base coat.

La Vie En Rose is so pretty! I love how delicate it is. That shimmer is amazing.

thanks for your swatches and review! You do epic Lippmann swatches! I am really looking forward to seeing what other Lippmanns you have in store for us. Thanks for showing the Spring ones first, since these are LE. La Vie En Rose is already sold out at my mall. I did get that one and it is fantastic as a layering polish, too! I tried a couple of combinations she did from the runway shows using La Vie EnRose +polishes I already have(Let’s Hear it For the Boy subbed for Blue Orchid and Orly Au Champagne for Pseudo Silk Kimono). The looks were surprisingly easy to pull off!

they’re cute but not unique enough for me to go ahead and buy those.

I guess you are very experienced in painting you nails (hehe, I sound like Captain Obvious :))
I mean, I have some troubles with Spring Buds and Flowers in Her Hair. Wouldn’t call them easy and self-levelling. I don’t know if it’s just me and my not-so-clever hands.
    But the colors are awesome.

Lovely swatches! I’m going to have to go get “Flowers In Her Hair” and “Blue Orchid”! =)
