Glam Polish: Bad Hair Day Swatches & Review - Alopecia Awareness Shade
September is Alopecia Awareness Month and with the new month right around the corner, I have a very special and important polish to share with you. Glam Polish has created a stunning polish to promote Alopecia Awareness and raise funds to donate to the Australia Alopecia Areata Foundation Inc.

There are over half a million Australians and around 6.5 million Americans living with Alopecia - a condition where people lose their hair from all areas of the body including the scalp, for which there is currently no known cure.
Approximately 60% of people diagnosed are under the age of 20, and for children especially, hair loss can have a negative impact on their self-esteem, which in many cases is linked to anxiety, depression, impaired academic performance and lack of social inclusion. To support children affected by the condition, Australia Alopecia Areata Foundations & Variety grants wigs [to children to help] gain their confidence and feel more comfortable among their peers.
- Alopecia (al-oh-PEE-shah) is a hair loss condition, that can cause round patched of baldness or total body hair loss.
- There are 3 main types of Alopecia: Alopecia Areata - round patches/bald spots, Alopecia Totalis - complete scalp baldness and Alopecia Universalis - total hair loss from body and scalp.
- Alopecia Areata is believed to be an autoimmune disease [meaning] the immune system mistakenly attacks the body (hair follicles) instead of defending it.
- Alopecia Areata affects men and women equally. It can occur at any age, often [it] begins during childhood or early teen years. It does not discriminate on race.
- Alopecia is NOT contagious

“Bad Hair Day” was named by 13-year-old Natalia Voss who lives with Alopecia Areata. It is a dark wash denim linear holo with holographic silver, navy and bright blue microglitter. It’s an incredible color. I think this needs to be in everyone’s stash and it supports an amazing cause to boot. 2 perfect coats.
$7 from each sale of this shade will be donated to benefit the Australia Alopecia Areata Foundation Inc. If you can’t buy a bottle but would still like to help out this great cause, you can also click here to donate.
“Bad Hair Day” will be available for purchase beginning Friday, September 4th at 3pm PST on Glam Polish’s website for Australia and US residents (shipping rates to the US are $3.50 for the first bottle and $1.00 for each additional.)
