OPI: Mariah Carey Holiday 2013 Collection Swatches & Review Part 1
Hi guys! Crazy busy times are upon me. November is the busiest month of the year for me at my day job and on top of that my husband and I are selling our house and moving right before Thanksgiving so needless to say, the next few weeks are going to be crazy and my posts will most likely be sporadic. I will try my hardest to keep on track, but bear with me. :)
Today I have the first part of OPI’s Holiday Collection for Winter 2013. As with last year’s Holiday Collection, OPI has teamed up with Mariah Carey to create these delicious shades! I was excited to see what OPI and Mariah Carey came up with for this year and I was quite pleased when I saw the first photos! Now that I’ve had the chance to try these, I’m even more excited! Check them out!
“All I Want For Christmas (Is OPI)” is a true red creme. Perfectly suited for Christmas of course. Watch out for pooling on this one, as the formula is quite thin. 2 coats.

“Visions Of Love” is a dark, vampy red creme with luscious brown undertones. I love this shade! Beautiful! Beware of pooling on this one as well because the formula is thin. I used 3 SUPER thin coats for opacity.

“Cute Little Vixen” is a dark metallic pink that’s reminiscent of a modern Christmas ornament. Really great formula on this one. Not too runny or too thick. 2 coats.

“In My Santa Suit” is a bright metallic red. Nice formula. Nothing we haven’t seen before but a Christmastime staple nonetheless. 2 coats.

“Underneath The Mistletoe” is a silver and red microglitter filled red jelly. The depth of this is awesome! A gorgeous polish! 2 coats.

“My Favorite Ornament” has white gold glitter in a clear base. This is the polish I was most excited about from this collection! It’s going to be perfect for the Holidays! 3 coats.

“Sleigh Ride For Two” is a dark chocolate polish with a strong red shimmer. It’s a darkened version of “I Knead Sour-Dough” from OPI’s Fall Collection! I am in love with this! Could be a one-coater but I did 2 coats. (PS - seeing these photos again after having swatched them a couple weeks ago, makes me want to wear this again! Seriously, stunning.)

“I Snow You Love Me” has round holographic silver glitter in a clear base. OPI didn’t quite hit the mark with this one. I see what they were trying to do and I like the vision but it’s not quite there. The glitter to base ratio is way off. It’s hard to get glitter pieces out without getting too much base with it. The glitter pieces had really sunk to the bottom also. I had to give it a good shake to get the pieces I did get, out of the bottle. Next time, I will probably brush it on a piece of foil and use tweezers to place the glitter, ala The Polishaholic. It makes much more sense for this polish. This is one dabbed coat over “Sleigh Ride For Two.”

“Warm Me Up” is a cool toned brown metallic with gray undertones. It’s got some pink and green microshimmer in there too. A unique color and I really like the metallic looking finish! 2 coats.

“Ski Slope Sweetie” is a frosty white and gold shimmer. I wasn’t sure about this but I actually really like it. It looks like it’s going to be predominantly white in the bottle but it actually comes off more gold on the nail. I haven’t tried this over black but I think it would be amazing! This is 3 coats by itself and you can see just slight VNL (visible nail line.)

“Wonderous Star” has mostly white gold glitter with black glitter bits mixed in. In these photos, the gold glitter actually looks to be flecks, which I really like! I’m not sure how I feel about the black glitter though. It feels a bit random, but I’m holding out judgement until I try it again. This is one coat over “Visions Of Love.”

“All Sparkly And Gold” has sparkly dark gold glitter in a clear base. Another Holiday staple! Love it. 3 coats.
