China Glaze: Holiday 2014 Twinkle Collection Swatches & Review
Hi there! Today I have China Glaze’s brand new collection for Holiday 2014 for you! All of these Holiday collections are getting me so excited for the Holidays! This collection is just adding to that. Let’s get right to checking out these beauties!
“Tip Your Hat” is a slighty dusty red creme. It’s a little on the thick side in a good way. I like reds that are a little thicker because it prevents the dreaded cuticle staining you can get when reds are thin and pool up. I did 2 coats but it’s a definite one-coater.
“Chillin’ With My Snow-mies” has large, medium and small white hexes in a clear base. I don’t really know how I feel about this. It’s kind of cool that it looks like polka dots but it’s super base heavy which makes glitter hard to pickup and spread on the nail. I would actually suggest putting some of this polish on a piece of foil or paper and then placing it on the nail, otherwise, it’s a bit of a pain. I did a dabbed coat over “Tip Your Hat”.
“Out Like A Light” is a dark stormy gray creme. This one is quite thin, so don’t get too much polish on the brush or you will have big puddles in your cuticles. This dries gorgeously shiny. 2 coats.
“Dancing & Prancing” has metallic silver, jade, gold, pink and blue glitter in a clear base. This packed with glitters and gives a great glitter payoff. I really love this. It’s like Deborah Lippmann “Happy Birthday” and OPI “Rainbow Connection” and all the other dupes except with muted shades of glitter. Really cute. I did one coat over “Out Like A Light”.
“Define Good…” is a shimmering cranberry shade. This is really gorgeous and the epitome of the Holiday season. I did 2 coats.
“No Peeking!” is a smokey purple with purple and blue shimmer. It’s got a slightly frosty feel to it. Not too frosty that I dislike it but enough that it’s not my favorite polish in this collection. The color is beautiful though. There are some noticeable brush strokes in person. I did 2 coats.
“December To Remember” is any icy medium blue with strong pink and gold shimmer. This is awesome! So unique and beautiful. I’m seriously impressed with this beauty, photos just don’t do it justice. I did 2 coats.
“Feeling Twinkly” has sparkly, finely milled blue microglitter in a clear base. It’s a little too sheer to be worn alone. This is 3 coats and it’s still not at full coverage.
One coat over white here.
“De-Light” has pale gold metallic and holographic glitter in a clear base. This is such a delicate beauty. It’s a perfect holiday glitter topper. I did one coat over “Tip Your Hat”.
“Pine-ing For Glitter” has teal green colored microglitter and small glitter bits in a clear base. Pretty color. It’s not quite an emerald green but it’s not quite a true teal blue/green so I’m calling it teal green. Gorgeous. I did one coat over white.
“Meet Me Under The Stars” has silver glitter in a barely-blue-tinged black base. Great formula. It looks a little patchy on the first coat but 2 coats evened it right out. I did 2 coats.
“I’d Melt For You” is a silver chrome polish. It borders on being frosty but not quite and the formula leaves little brushstrokes but not bad for a chrome. I think this polish would be great for stamping. I did 2 coats but it’s a one-coater for sure.
China Glaze can be purchased at tons of different places including Ulta, Sally Beauty, Transdesign and lots of other retailers and E-tailers.
