OPI: Spring 2014 Spotlight On Glitter Collection Swatches & Review
Hi all! Who wants some glitter!? It’s a big ol’ glitter explosion on today’s post!
“You Pink Too Much” is metallic dusty pink and lavender hexes and holographic silver glitter bits in a clear base. Pretty polish! I don’t own OPI “Pink Yet Lavender” from the Winter 2013 Mariah Carey Collection but I’m pretty sure that this is a dupe for that one . If you don’t own PYL, now might be the perfect time to get YPTM! This is one coat over Zoya “Dot”.
“Rose of Light” is a slightly rosy gold and holographic glitter topper. Crazy sparkliness! I wish that the rose tone was a bit more prevalent but this is pretty nonetheless. This is 2 coats over Zoya “Cole”.
“Chasing Rainbows” is pretty self explanatory; a rainbow of glitters in a clear base! This is a dupe of a favorite among polish lovers, OPI’s “Rainbow Connection” from their Holiday 2011 Muppets Collection. A must-have for any stash, so if you don’t already have “Rainbow Connection” you might want this beauty! It should be noted that some of the larger hexes in here were a little taco-y. I’m talking REALLY slight, but to me that just indicated that they could become full-on tacos after some time. One coat over Zoya “Dillon”.
“Desperately Seeking Sequins” is a holographic silver top coat. This one is a dupe of OPI “Which Is Witch?” from the Oz The Great And Powerful Collection. I did 2 coats over Serum No. 5 “Glowin’ Of Eden”.
“Blush Hour” has medium purple, lilac, magenta, light pink and dark purple glitter in a magenta tinted base. I wish that this was just in a clear base, it would be much more versatile that way. I did one coat over Serum No. 5 “Laven-daringly Bright”.
“I Reached My Gold!” has large gold hexes and holographic silver bits in a clear base. This is a dupe of OPI “When Monkeys Fly!” from the Oz The Great And Powerful Collection. Honestly, after all the hoopla that was caused the first time around with this polish (it was in a sense “recalled” after many complaints from customers), I’m not sure why they would re-release it and not fix the taco glitter problems. I had high hopes for this, expecting they would have fixed the curly glitter but to no avail. :( I did one dabbed coat over black.
All in all, this collection is a bit of a mixed bag for me. While they are pretty, I wish they weren’t re-releases! I guess it is good though, if you missed out on some of these the first time around! :)
