Pretty Serious Cosmetics: Pet Names Collection, Absence/Presence Duo Swatches & Review & MORE!
Hello all! Today I have lots of good stuff from Pretty Serious Cosmetics to share with you. Originally, I was going to title this post The Well Meaning But Ultimately Quite Awkward Pet Names Collection + Absence/Presence Duo Swatches & Review + Some Nail Art & Stamping or something of that nature but it was just too much for a brain to process! Haha! Even the title as is, is a lot to take in. So I shortened the title but let’s do a little run-down of what you can expect from this post. First up, I have the The Well Meaning But Ultimately Quite Awkward Pet Names Collection (say that ten times fast.) Next up will be swatches of the Absence/Presence Duo. Lastly, I have some nail art stamping tests and a nail art look to round it all off! There is lots of good stuff to be seen here so hang with me guys. :)
“Sugar Cakes” is a brightened cool-toned pink. It borders on being a neon and even dries to a satin-almost-matte finish. It’s a little on the thick side but not too difficult. I did 2 coats with top coat here.
“Honey Puff” is a sunny yellow creme. Pretty excellent formula for a yellow creme! It self-levels so well. I did the first coat pretty thin which was streaky but then a thicker second coat and it was perfect. Love it.
“Cuddle Bunny” is a slightly dusky lavender with a fine silver shimmer. Great formula, adorable color. 2 coats.
“Pookie” is a deepened aqua blue creme. Creamy and gorgeous. Perfect formula. I did 2 coats.
“Snugglebutt” is a lovely cool-toned deep but bright purple creme. Bright and beautiful and just generally awesome. Really great formula again. I did 2 coats.
“Stud Muffin” is a bright warm-toned red crelly. Oh, red polishes, my one true love. This one is amazing. It’s so pretty. I did 2 coats.
“Absence” is a jet black creme. This dries super shiny and is an amazingly opaque polish. You really can’t go wrong with this. 2 coats.
“Presence” is a pure white creme. Pretty great formula especially for a white polish. It’s a little on the thick side but I think that helps with it being so opaque but not streaky. I did 2 coats.
Lately, I’ve been trying my hand more and more at stamping. I still need lots of work but I’m getting there. I’ve been on the search for a good black and white creme that aren’t strictly for stamping so I figured the Absence/Presence Duo would be perfect candidates.
In my stash, these are the best regular, non-stamping black and white cremes I’ve come across for stamping. Granted, I have tried everything that’s out there but these are pretty dang fantastic in my eyes! I used the Bundle Monster BM-S103 plate for this first look over “Stud Muffin”
For the next one I used the Bundle Monster BM-S107 plate and used “Presence” to stamp over “Absence”. Being a n00b, I didn’t wait long enough for the design to dry before I applied top coat, hence the streaking. :P
Next, a little nail art. I was really feeling like doing a dry brush mani one day and these polishes were within arms reach. I used “Presence” as the base and used “Sugarcakes”, “Honey Puff” and “Pookie” to create the dry brush look over the top. I love how dry brush manis can make it looked you used a bunch of different polishes but it’s just the way the color are overlapping that make it look that way! It’s so fun and this look turned into an abstract rainbow on my nails.
Last but not least, I wanted to stamp over the top of the dry brush mani just because I’m on a stamping spree lately and determined to master the craft. I used “Presence” and the Bundle Monster BM-S107 plate to stamp over the top. I actually wore this as a mani for a few days and I couldn’t stop staring!
I’m obsessed with this collection and the duo. Being a big fan of cremes, I can already tell I’m going to get tons of use out of these, especially when it comes to the black and white colors and stamping!
