China Glaze: Fall 2015 The Great Outdoors Collection Swatches & Review
Hi guys! Today I have China Glaze’s new Fall collection to show you. When I heard the theme was The Great Outdoors, I was so excited. Living in the Pacific Northwest, I felt like this collection would totally be based off the region. Let’s see if these lived up to my expectations!
“Take A Hike” is a dusty hunter green creme. It’s super saturated and has a great formula. 2 coats.
“Change Your Altitude” is a pale concrete gray creme. It’s weird, but I really don’t have many gray cremes. So, I’m trying to add more to my collection. Glad I have this beauty! 2 coats.
“My Lodge Or Yours?” is a dusty mauve creme. I feel like we are seeing a lot of this color for Fall and I don’t mind it one bit! Love it. 2 coats.
“S’more Fun” is a chartreuse creme. I don’t like the name! This could have been so cute for almost any other color but a greenish-yellow shade? No! I feel like an opportunity was missed. Haha. Not the best formula but not the worst. I got by with 2 coats on some fingers and 3 coats on others.
“Gone Glamping” is a duochrome that shifts from gold to green to blue. It’s somewhat sheer and to be honest, I’m over colors like these. They are so overdone. This one is nothing to call home about. 3 coats.
“Cabin Fever” is a duochrome that shifts slightly from red to copper to gold to green. There are slight brushstrokes. And again, I’m over these colors. I did 2 coats.
“Pondering” is a duochrome that shifts from gunmetal to blue to purple to green. Again, slight brushstrokes but at least this one is slightly more unique compared to the other two. 2 coats.
“Check Out The Silver Fox” is a darkened silver foil. This reminds me of OPI’s “I Haven’t the Foggiest” which I love. But they are super similar. I wouldn’t imagine you’d need both. 2 coats.
“Wood You Wanna?” is a warm dark brown foil. This one is pretty. I’m loving all the browns this season and this one is unique in the group. 2 coats but it’s a one-coater.
“Free Bear Hugs” is a deep dark red with strong brown undertones. This sucker is DARK, like D-A-R-K dark. It’s like a dark saturated dried blood splotch. The horror fan in me loves that but to most people this is going to look straight up black. 2 coats.
“Sleeping Under The Stars” is a slightly muted navy blue creme with lots of pinky-copper shimmer. To be honest, this is what I was hoping “Choo-Choo Choose You!” from the All Aboard Collection would look like. Since it didn’t look like this, I’m happy with this one. 2 coats but it’s a one-coater.
“Let’s Dew It” has silver, blue and purple microglitter bits and shimmer in a clear base. It’s a sparkly little gem and it’s totally gorgeous. I didn’t expect to love this one, but I LOVE this one! I did one coat over “Sleeping Under The Stars”.
Although I think this could have fit The Great Outdoors theme better, I do like it. Formula and uniqueness is on point! My favorites are “Take A Hike”, “Wood You Wanna?”, “Sleeping Under The Stars” and “Let’s Dew It”.
