Crown Brush HD Cosmetic Brush Set Review
Hi everyone! Today I have something a little bit different in store for you! I’ve dabbled in cosmetics and such lately so I decided to go out on a limb and give reviewing these cosmetic brushes a try!
This 6 piece brush set comes in an embossed, zippered vinyl carrying case. It also comes with a mirror and tweezer but for some reason, my set didn’t have the mirror or the tweezer. The brushes are made with high grade synthetic fibers and they are vegan friendly! The set comes in three different colors; white, purple or orange.
Each brush is conveniently labeled so you can tell exactly what the brush is meant for. This will be especially helpful if you are just getting into makeup and you aren’t sure which brush to use for what purpose.
The largest brush in the set is the Pro Powder Brush. This brush is intended as an all over powder brush to create a flawless finish on your skin. This could just be a personal preference but for me, the bristles aren’t dense enough to use this as an all over power brush. I use Bare Minerals daily and I found it a little bit frustrating to use this brush with my powdered foundation. Again, it could just be my preference. I think it would be perfect as a blush brush or maybe to lightly brush on powder as a touch-up.
The next largest brush in this set is the Tapered Blush Brush. The brush is intended to use to apply warm hints of color using blush. This brush is really great and I found that having the shorter bristles gave me more control as to where I was applying the blush. A very nice brush!
Next in the set is the Deluxe Contour Brush. Now, I’ve never contoured before (*gaspppp*) but I’ve always wanted to give it a shot. I think this will be a great brush for me to use for my first time. I can see it being very easy to blend out the colors you are using to create the contours.
Now for the Chisel Shadow Brush. A wonderful brush for applying shadow to your lids. I used it to apply this bronzy shadow (“Trick” from the Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette) all over my lid and it was a dream! It was easy to apply the shadow just where I needed it and I didn’t get any eyeshadow fallout on my cheeks. The brush really held on to the shadow nice and tight. I really love this brush!
The Crease Blender Brush does just that, it nicely blends your eyeshadow. I roughly added “Blackheart” from the Naked 3 Palette to my crease to see how well this brush would blend it out and it did so spectacularly. It left me with a very even and lovely look on my lids!
Lastly we have the Detail Liner Brush. Mine was a little wonky with some bristles bent out of shape (as you can see in the photo below). I haven’t had much experience with liner brushes in general but this one seemed to be ok. I think it would have been great, had the bristles not been bent. Most likely if you bought this set, your brush would be just fine and work wonderfully. I might use mine as a lip brush to get the lines just exact when applying lipstick!
Overall I think this a great set. Whether you need a set to put in your purse when you are on the go or you don’t have any brushes yet and don’t know where to start or you just need a good reliable set, I think these are great. Especially for the price! They are on sale for $27.95 for the whole set right now! You can’t beat that!
