Hi friends! Some of you may remember that back in November I was in the running to become a reviewer for Rescue Beauty Lounge in the I Want 2 Review RBL Contest. I campaigned like a crazy person (as those of you who follow me on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter know… hehe!) and was amongst the top 4 bloggers (plus one awesome YouTuber) who were chosen to work with Rescue Beauty Lounge and review their polishes! I can’t even tell you how incredible a feeling it was to be chosen by Ji and her crew and then voted for by my lovely followers! Honestly, it was a dream come true. I’ve loved RBL polishes ever since I first started my nail polish craze and never in a million years dreamed I would get this opportunity. So, from the bottom of my heart, thank you, thank you, THANK YOU too all of those who put up with my maniacal ways and voting for me. I’m still in disbelief. I’m just completely honored and humbled.

Today I have 2 big scoops of sweet, sugary Rescue Beauty Lounge goodness to serve up! If you are looking for polishes more perfect than these, you are wasting your time. The buttery, opaque and consistent formulas of RBL polishes always leaves me in awe. Seriously some of the easiest and most delightful polishes to apply.

“Scrangie 2.0” is a shimmering green/gold/pewter metallic with blue shimmer. The shimmer was so unexpected! It really gives the polish that extra oomph! It looks so similar to an oil slick. Just glorious. I could have gotten away with one coat but did 2 for these swatches.

“Stormy” is a perfectly concrete colored gray creme. So silky with that buttery formula I was talking about that’s just to die for! 2 coats.

“Yellow Fever” is a sunshine yellow creme with a very subtle golden microshimmer throughout. Wonderful formula for a yellow polish! With a good ridge-filling base coat, it glides on beautifully. 2 coats. (YEP! 2 coats people! And no streaking!)

“Plie” is a stunning nude polish with strong pink undertones, in some lights it even looks like a muted mauve/pink against my fair skin. I think this is my perfect nude polish! Perfect mannequin hands! 2 coats.

“Grunge” is a greige creme with purpley undertones and a subtle silver microshimmer. This truly is grungy! But in the best sense of course. Love this one! 2 coats.

“Accidental Interloper” is a shimmering gunmetal metallic. I am completely floored by this polish. I thought it would be awesome but it is insane!! This is one that you have to see in person to believe. Photos truly cannot do it justice. I did the usual swatch with clear top coat and also had to try it with a matte top coat (in the second photo)! 2 easy coats.

“Catherine H” is a dusty navy blue with strong blue and purple shimmer. Very reminiscent of brand new denim jeans. Rich & vibrant. This polish is completely gorgeous. Barely 2 coat required for this one!

“Fortissimo” is muddy, extra dark chocolate brown creme. It is stunningly creamy and it goes on the nail perfectly. My nails looked good enough to chomp on! 2 perfect coats.

“Cerise Noir” is a gorgeous black cherry creme (“Cerise Noir” means black cherry in French so the name is absolutely accurate.) Another polish that is pure perfection. For some reason, I can’t help put think of that episode of Sex & The City when Carrie goes on the first date with Aleksandr Petrovsky aka “The Russian” (man I hated that guy for Carrie!) and he puts black cherries in their tea to sweeten it. It doesn’t even show the cherries or anything but this just has that dark, vampy, Russian-style vibe to it! I’m obviously not obsessed with that show or anything… *scampers off to watch it for the millionth time.* 2 coats.

“Chinoise” is a bright cherry red jelly with amazing pigmentation. It’s definitely a jelly, in fact I thought it might be sheer from looking at the neck of the brush but that was not the case. It was just a really squishy perfectly pigmented confection. The perfect red. 2 coats.

Congratulations to my fellow RBL ladies, Mimi from Makeup Withdrawal, Lakeisha from Refined & Polished, Victoria from Manicurator & Yukie from WarmVanillaSugar0823 (YouTube)!

Plie does look perfect on you! A gorgeous, feminine shade. My other fave her is Accidental Interloper ♥

  • Kara Elise

You really talked up Yellow Fever to the point that I might need to consider making that my first RBL polish!

    • So much pressure! Hehe! It truly is the most amazing yellow I’ve ever experienced! To be able to wear just 2 coats of it (and I didn’t even use ridge filler like I usually have to) is just incredible IMO! I always use a light hand when applying colors like this so I’m sure that helped but seriously… amazing polish.

Love love love all of these! And agreed - I was not a fan of the Russian!

  • The Russian was horrible. In just about every way! haha
I wish RBL was cheaper. I would love to have some, but the price, then shipping? No way!

    • YES! Totally agree! If you ever get a chance, you should get at least one (I’ve seen them for relatively cheap in blog sales!) They are definitely worth the price. Also, it might be a while but sometimes they have 50% off sales. They just had one a couple months ago and before that it had been years since they had one, but when they do, it’s pretty amazing!

Your Sex & The City reference made my day! When Carrie was dating that guy, it made for some great episodes, but I couldn’t stand him either! Absolutely beautiful color, must-have and great reference!

    • He was so not right for her! I despised seeing them together. LOL! I love when I hear about people being as crazed about SATC as I am (I know a lot of people are but it’s still fun to hear from someone directly! :) )
