Shleee Polish x Peachy Polish: Practical Magic Collection Swatches & Review
Hi everyone! Today is a great day. An idea I’ve had for years has finally been brought to life and I could not be more excited to share it with you.

One of my favorite movies ever is Practical Magic. To this day, I still watch it at least a few times a year. Ever since I first got into nail polish about 5 years ago, I’ve thought about a Practical Magic collection. I’ve always had these ideas swimming around in my head but since I’m not a maker, I thought they would never become a reality. In talking with Ashley from Shleee Polish a while back, I mentioned how I wished so badly that this collection could come true to which she responded “send me your ideas!” So that I did, I put all my ideas out on inspiration boards and sent them to her. Not only did she totally see my vision, she surpassed my wildest dreams with these creations. She is a true artist, whom I am lucky enough to know and respect.

So without further ado, a collection that is 5 years in the making, brought to you by me but most importantly, Shleee Polish!

“The Owens Sisters” has black, orange, red and bronze glitter in a clear base. All the Owens women seem to have 2 daughters, one with dark brown/black hair and one with red/orange hair. This polish was made to mimic the sisters’ hair colors. Not only that but it makes a perfect glitter topper for Halloween! One coat over OPI “The Sun Never Sets”.
My inspiration board for “The Owens Sisters”:

“Amas Veritas” has shades of purple, blue and silver holographic glitter, microglitter and shimmer in a clear base. My idea was to specifically make this polish magical and man is it magical. I imagined Sally and Gillian as little girls conjuring up this love spell using rose petals so it had to be sweet and girly. I was ooh’ing and aah’ing while I swatched! Ashley nailed my vision, pictures just don’t quite do it justice. 2 thin coats over Elevation Polish “Jengish Chokusu”.
My inspiration board for “Amas Veritas”:

“I Wished For You Too…” has periwinkle blue, periwinkle purple, pearly white, pale blue, cerulean and sparse black glitter in a clear base. I wanted a polish that was sweet and darling. A love story of a polish per se, to convey the scene in the movie where Sally finds out that not only did she wish for a man that she thought couldn’t exist but does, but he wished for her as well and that they are destined to be together. ♥ One coat over OPI “To Be Continued…”
My inspiration board for “I Wished For You Too…”:

“Belladonna” has gold, copper, caramel and bronze microglitter in a clear base. Belladonna is an herb that is referred to and used a lot in the movie. It has many uses but Sally and Gillian use it on Gillian’s abusive boyfriend which ends up killing him. I wanted this polish to resemble the little brown/gold/reddened bits of Belladonna that they have bottles of in the movie. It ended up being more on the gold side which is just fine with me! Although you can wear this on it’s own in 3 - 4 coats, I prefer it layered. I did 3 coats on it’s own on my pointer and middle fingers and one coat over China Glaze “Brownstone” on my ring and pinkies.
My inspiration board for “Belladonna”:

“Blood On The Moon” has orange, red and gold sparse glitters with gold shimmer in a gray jelly base. Blood on the moon refers to when the moon has a red or orange ring around it, making the moon itself appear red or orange. Generations of witches in the movie believe that this is a sign of trouble, which turns out to be true! Shleee really nailed the essence of this idea. Having the gold, red and orange glitters lay in the base so sparsely that it reflects the idea of a reddened moon. 3 thin coats but you can get by with 2.
“Witch, Witch, You’re A Bitch!” has tons of gold, silver and copper glitter, microglitter and shimmer in a black jelly base. This is a taunt that school children have sang to to all the Owens sisters for hundreds of years. The Owens family are outcasts of their small town and looked down upon by the residents of the small island near Massachusetts where they live. This polish is perfectly witchy; the good kind, just like the misunderstood Owens women themselves. It’s just jam packed with delicious glitter! Gorgeous and effortless in just 2 coats.

“Deathwatch Beetle” has scattered holographic shimmer with purple, blue and green flakies in a black jelly base. A heartbroken Owens ancestor cast a spell on all of the Owens women that when they hear the Deathwatch Beetle ticking, that death was not far behind for the man that they love. Sally hears the Deathwatch Beetle and tries to kill it to prevent her husbands death… you’ll have to watch the movie to know what happens next… When I imagined this polish, this is exactly what I saw. It’s so stunningly perfect. 2 coats.

“Midnight Margaritas” is a polish I dreamed about for years. I never saw anything released that was close to what I imagined for this one. Now, my dreams have been fulfilled. This has chartreuse and lime glitter in holographic, metallic and matte finishes with sparse blue and purple glitters in a clear base. This is the bomb. Seriously. I couldn’t have imagined anything better. It’s my favorite polish of the group and coincidentally, my favorite part of the movie! I’d watch the movie for just the midnight margaritas scene! Sally, Gillian and the aunts wake up late one night to drink midnight margaritas, dance and do palm readings! This scene made me want to be a witch! One coat over OPI “Lost My Bikini In Molokini” here.
I also tried once coat over Zoya “Heather” for the next swatch.
My inspiration board for “Midnight Margaritas”:

“The Man Under The Roses” has lots of teal, turquoise and aqua glitter with sparse red glitter bits in a clear base. After Gillian’s boyfriend dies, his spirit comes back to haunt the sisters. Sally’s daughter Kylie first sees the spirit of the man under the roses bushes which grew where his body was buried in just one night! The sparse red glitters perfectly convey roses in a rose bush and teal glitter keeps it from appearing too Christmas-y. One coat over CND “Lush Tropics”.
My inspiration board for “The Man Under The Roses”:
“My Blood, Your Blood, Our Blood.” has shades of red glitter and shimmer in a clear base. This is said by Sally and Gillian when they take a blood oath to always be with and help each other. I love red glitter toppers, always. This one is particularly special. One coat over NCLA “Rodeo Drive Royalty”.
