Hola ladies and gents! It’s another beautiful Friday here in the Pacific Northwest! This week went by surprisingly fast and you won’t find me complaining about it! I have big Spring cleaning plans for this weekend. Super exciting, I know. :) To kick off the weekend, I have OPI’s Color Paints Collection to show you! I’ll be using a jelly opacity scale to explain the opacity in each of these since they have a jelly formulation but some have better opacity than others.
Opacity level 1 - Most sheer, full opacity not possible.
Opacity level 2 - Sheer, full opacity possibly accomplished after 4 - 5 coats
Opacity level 3 - Semi-sheer, full opacity possible in 3 - 4 coats.
Opacity level 4 - More of a crelly opacity, full opacity possible in 2 - 3 coats.
Opacity level 5 - Most opaque, full opacity possible in 2 coats.
“Primarily Yellow” is an egg yolk yellow jelly. I probably would never wear this on it’s own but it would be awesome with some nail art! 2 coats. Opacity level: 1
“Chromatic Orange” is a juicy red-toned orange jelly. This look so squishable. 2 coats. Opacity level: 2
“Landscape Artist” is a mossy green jelly . 2 coats. Opacity level: 3
“Pen & Pink” is a lovely magenta pink jelly. 2 coats. Opacity level: 3
“Turquoise Aesthetics” is a dark teal jelly. 2 coats. Opacity level: 4
“Indigo Motif” is an almost-black navy jelly. 2 coats. Opacity level: 5.
“Magenta Muse” is somewhere between a magenta jelly and red jelly. In one coat it’s more of a warm magenta but in 2 it appears to be more more red. This is 2 coats. Opacity level: 4
“Purple Perspective” is a plum jelly. 2 coats. Opacity level: 4
“Silver Canvas” is a silver chrome polish. This doesn’t really fit the theme in my opinion. It’s pretty random. It also has visible brush-strokes so it’s not particularly my fave. 2 coats. Opacity level: 5.
Lastly, two quick little nail arts for you! The first is my first ever blobbicure! Definitely room for improvement but I’m excited to try it out some more!
And a happy accident! It started out as a blobbicure but I smudged it so I took a toothpick and swirled it around in a circular motion and this happened! Kinda cool actually! Looks like abstract art to me!
Overall, I like these. It’s cool that they sort of expanded on their Sheer Tints from last Spring and improved them even. Although, I won’t wear some of these alone, They’ll be fun to experiment with some nail art and different manicure! I like the uniqueness.
How do you guys feel about these? Are you liking them? If so, which are your favorite?
