CrowsToes: Holiday 2012 Collection

Posted on Dec 23, 2012

Merry Christmas Eve Eve! Are you guys all ready for Christmas? I got the last of my Christmas shopping done today! I went to a few stores including Costco and it actually wasn’t too crazy. Which was surprising and awesome! Today I’ve got the Holiday 2012 Collection from CrowsToes! There have been some amazing Holiday collections this year and this is one of them. Some of these are exclusive to Llarowe.com and some are exclusive to OverallBeauty.com. I will specify where you can buy each one. These were my first CrowsToes polishes I ever bought and after receiving them, I promptly ordered some from older collections. I have no idea what I was waiting for! CrowsToes is a really awesome brand! Look for more CrowsToes swatches from me in the coming months, I’m a major fangirl of theirs now and I’m sure I will buying from their new collections. :)

“Bah F@#$(*G Humbug” has blue, yellow and teal glitter in a clear base. Some of the glitter is holographic, but I can’t tell which colors are because this polish is so insanely sparkly, I can focus enough to find out! I knew this one would be a favorite the minute I had it in my grubby lil’ paws! So beautiful, words can’t even explain! This one is exclusive to OverallBeauty.com. This is one coat over OPI “Ski Teal We Drop.”

“Blue Christmas” has cyan blue, black and holographic indigo glitter in a clear base. Let me start off by saying sorry about this swatch. I underestimated how opaque this glitter would get and it ended up looking like a hot mess. I used 2 coats here, but I should have kept it at one or used it by itself. Anyway, I really liked the indigo glitter in this. I don’t know that I’ve seen another polish with that shade of glitter and I’d really like to see more of it (HINT HINT)! This one is also exclusive to OverallBeauty.com. It’s pictured here over Butter London “Queen Vic.”

“A Christmas Crow” was the only polish in the collection that has a colored base. It’s got gold glitter and multichrome shimmer in a dark chocolate base. The multichrome shimmer appears mostly red, but it shifts to green and yellow in certain lighting. This polish is very rich in color and the unexpected multichrome shimmer was such a nice addition. I did these swatches a while ago and forgot to post them so please excuse the fact that my nails are much shorter in these pictures than the others! My nail length is always changing. :) “A Christmas Crow” is a Llarowe.com exclusive. This is 2 coats over Essie “Licorice.”

I’ve already done a review of “Her Goose Got Cooked” but I love it so much I wanted to include it with the collection it belongs to. This time, I figured I’d show it over another color! I am definitely buying a backup of this. I think I can say that this is my favorite glitter of all time. It’s at the very least, in my top 3. I could go on about this glitter but, I already have, so I will spare you. :) This is another Llarowe.com exclusive. It’s pictured here with 2 thin coats of HGGC over Essie “Spinning Again.”

“Holly and Hellfire” is a red and silver glitter. The larger silver hexes are holographic and for some reason my camera was liking to catch them shining purple which is why it kinda looks like there is also purple glitter in here. This is really opaque, a lot like “Blue Christmas.” I think “Blue Christmas” was just a bit more opaque than “Holly and Hellfire” though. This one is available through both Llarowe.com and OverallBeauty.com. This is 2 coats over Butter London “British Racing Green.”

“Jingle Balls” is another favorite for me! It doesn’t have the typical “Christmas green” colored glitter, which I think sets it apart. When I was looking at the swatches on the website before I bought this, I actually couldn’t tell if it was green glitter, blue glitter, or both. Turns out, it’s got both! It’s got bluish green, green and holographic silver hexes, holographic gold and silver bars, gold stars and a sprinkling of red glitter in a clear base. Another über sparkly one. I thought it looked just like a decorated Christmas tree on my nails! This one is a Llarowe.com exclusive. This is 2 thin coats over Butter London “Pillar Box Red.”

♫ ♪ Making Christmas, making Christmas, is so fine! It’s ours this time… ♪ ♫ I don’t know for sure, but I’m pretty sure the name is a nod to The Nightmare Before Christmas, which I think you may know, has been an obsession of mine since I was a wee kidlet. “Making Christmas” has red, green and holographic silver glitter in a clear base. This is another one that could be opaque on it’s own in a few coats. Can you guess what I’m going to say?…. SO SPARKLY. Man, I love me some sparkles! This one is available at both Llarowe and Overall Beauty. This is 2 thin coats over Sally Hansen “Ivory Skull.”

Last but not least is “Maxxed Out” which is hopefully what we WON’T be at the end of the holidays! It’s a holographic gold glitter bomb in a bottle. This reminds me a lot of Lynnderella “Golden Rules” but without the star glitter, which is a Lynnderella polish that I adore! I’ll take something like it, any day! So sparkly and pretty, yet again. You could wear this over so many different colors. I’m wearing one coat over Deborah Lippmann “Just Walk Away Renee.” This is another one that is available at both Llarowe and Overall Beauty!

The formula on all of these was sensational. There is something about the glitter they use in the polishes. Not the polish itself, but the glitter is thick and sturdy. Like if you took a single piece of it and looked at it from the side, it’s thick and hefty. Does that make sense? And yet, it’s still suspended so well in the bottle and it lays so nicely on the nail. I can’t explain it, but the point is, I really really like it. :) As I mentioned, these can be purchased through Llarowe.com and/or OverallBeauty.com.

Do you love these as much as I do? Do any of you already own them and know what I’m talking about with the glitter thickness thing? Haha! See you tomorrow for some more Christmas goodness!
